Madhuri dixit Madhuri dixit Indian actor who has been known for her roles in Hum Aapke Hain Koun (Beta Saajan) and Beta Saajan is one of the most renowned Indian actors. In the late 80s, she started her acting career and became popular with the part of Tezaab. In the film, she starred alongside the veteran actor Anil Kapooor. Then she appeared in the movie Dil with whom she shared the screen with Aamir Khan. Born into a middle-class family in Mumbai she was able to learn dance at an early age. She started acting when an infant and struggled for some time as the majority the films she made were flops. Her breakthrough came when she finally had success and went on to be one of the most prominent actresses within the Indian film business. After her wedding, she took an absence from work but returned to her profession. She was also a crucial role in the movie Gulaab Gang which was about the struggle of women within India. Dixit has been nominated for 15 Filmfare Awards, out of which she received eight. She was also honored with the Padma Shri the fourth highest civilian award in India. Her involvement in the social sector is well-known.
